GateScanner PE is a bootable offline disk scanning solution that performs multi-antivirus scans on entire hard disk drives of Windows or Linux-based computing appliances and devices. The product targets specialized equipment including SCADA/ICS systems, aviation computers, drones, medical imaging equipment, and Point of Sale systems. Using WinPE technology, GateScanner PE loads pre-boot to access the entire hard disk drive, including protected sectors and BitLocker encrypted drives. The solution can scan entire drives or specified file paths using up to six antivirus engines, including next-generation antivirus products. The scanning process does not install software or alter files and configurations, maintaining the device's operational integrity. Detected threats are flagged and logged for subsequent treatment. A common use case involves protecting manufacturing production lines from supply chain attacks by scanning machines returned from third-party maintenance before reconnecting them to production networks. The solution supports multiple file systems including Windows (FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, ReFS, exFAT), Apple (HFS, HFS+, APFS), Linux (EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, XFS, ZFS, UFS2, ReiserFS, Reiser4, RomFS), FreeBSD/BSD (UFS2), and various RAID configurations (0, 1, 4, 5, 50, 10, JBOD). It also supports Hikvision NAS and DVR systems. GateScanner PE is delivered as a software application bundled with an isolable AV Updater and WIN PE ISO Creator for self-implementation on user-provided removable media, vendor-supplied USB sticks, or in kiosk form with a smart touch screen.
