Muscope Cyber Security Rating (CYSR) is a cybersecurity rating system that evaluates an organization's attack surface and overall cybersecurity posture. It analyzes an organization's assets and their relationships to produce a formal, repeatable numerical score on a scale of 0 to 100. The score is divided into five risk clusters: - Bad (intolerable risk): Critical vulnerabilities, immediate action required - Poor (high risk): Significant vulnerabilities, insufficient security measures - Fair (medium risk): Moderate vulnerabilities, reasonable protection level - Good (low risk): Strong cybersecurity practices, proactive posture - Excellent (very low risk): Exceptional posture, industry-leading practices The system incorporates Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) to evaluate the effectiveness of an organization's security measures. It examines the perimeter of potential attacks, monitors real-time threats, and searches for vulnerabilities including Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and other indicators of potential compromise. Ratings are updated on a weekly or daily basis and are benchmarked against industry standards to provide actionable assessments. The CYSR supports Cyber Risk Quantification, enabling organizations to make informed decisions about improving their security posture.
