Email Guardian is a cloud-based email security service that filters and monitors inbound and outbound email traffic to block spam, phishing, malware, and fraud attempts before they reach end users. The service uses content analysis to inspect email text, structure, URLs (including QR codes), and images to identify malicious intent. Attachments are scanned through a multi-layer sandbox capable of analyzing encrypted files and extracting text and images from documents. Email Guardian includes fraud detection capabilities aimed at Business Email Compromise (BEC), CEO fraud, banking fraud, payroll fraud, and mobile cloning attempts, as well as protection against spoofing, domain impersonation, account takeover, ransomware, zero-day attacks, and data exfiltration. Delivered as a cloud service, it requires no on-premises hardware or software installation and can be configured within minutes. The platform provides a web console with role-based permissions for administrators to monitor email activity, including attack type, origin, and targeted users or accounts. Email Guardian sends security alerts and reports on blocked threats and incidents, and includes 24x7 monitoring and incident response support from the vendor, with phone notification for urgent cases such as fraud attempts.
