Ingalls CSAR®

Cybersecurity Assurance Readiness (CSAR®) is a software automation tool developed by Ingalls Information Security to assist DoD contractors in preparing for Authorization to Operate (ATO) approval under the Risk Management Framework (RMF). The tool specifically supports the Prepare and Categorize System steps of the RMF lifecycle. It employs a modular, automation-driven approach combined with human expert oversight to guide users through the ATO process while reducing errors, redundancy, and confusion. Key functional areas include: - Automated Form Completion: CSAR® maps user responses to mandatory ATO forms — including the ITCSC, PIA, and PCIL — so that questions only need to be answered once, with all relevant form sections populated automatically. - Guided Question Flow: Forms are presented in manageable, logical sections with question-level feedback that helps users understand how their answers affect their timeline to package submission and the risk of package return. - Intuitive Dashboard: A centralized dashboard allows users to track application status, package progress, submission timelines, and critical milestones. - RMF Advisory Services: A human-in-the-loop model pairs users with a Support Expert who assesses needs, customizes process solutions, and assists with RMF milestone checkpoints throughout the engagement. - Cyber Plans & Playbooks: Users have access to customizable templates designed to streamline RMF Plan development and facilitate entry into the RMF lifecycle. CSAR® is targeted at DoD contractors navigating the ATO process and is designed to reduce fatigue and improve accuracy in package preparation.
