Keys are stored in a high-performance database and can only be decrypted within a secure HSM, with automated backups taken at multiple intervals across multiple U.S. regions. The platform uses FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic modules, supports incremental departmental rollout, and offers a secure offboarding process that preserves customer access to encryption keys. File access latency is approximately 100 milliseconds.
