Paubox Email Encryption

Paubox Email Encryption is an email security solution designed to provide HIPAA-compliant email encryption for healthcare organizations and other entities handling protected health information (PHI). The product integrates with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 to automatically encrypt every outbound email by default, eliminating the need for manual encryption steps or user training. The solution uses 128-bit or 256-bit AES encryption to secure email content and employs Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 or higher to protect messages in transit. When a recipient's mail server does not support modern TLS encryption, Paubox automatically delivers a secure link for safe message access. Paubox operates as a native integration with existing email platforms, requiring no additional applications, plugins, or changes to user workflows. Recipients can read encrypted emails directly in their inbox without needing to log into portals or enter passcodes. The service includes a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) and maintains HITRUST certification. The encryption process occurs automatically on Paubox servers after users compose and send messages through Gmail or Outlook. This approach removes the risk of human error in encryption decisions and ensures consistent HIPAA compliance across all email communications. The solution is designed to maintain the standard email experience for both senders and recipients while providing regulatory compliance for sensitive healthcare data.
