Macquarie Government Distributed Denial of Service is a DDoS mitigation service designed for Australian government agencies. The service provides 24x7 threat detection and scrubbing capabilities to protect government websites from volumetric attacks that aim to slow down or make websites inaccessible to legitimate visitors. The service operates through automated sensors that detect DDoS activity and initiate mitigation processes to block malicious traffic before it reaches the target network. The scrubbing center operates globally to prevent bad traffic from reaching agency websites regardless of the attack origin. The service detects and blocks multiple volumetric attack types including TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, and DNS Flood attacks. It is built to support ASD Top 35 Compliance requirements for Australian government cybersecurity standards. The service is available to all Australian government agencies and can be added by existing Gateway customers through their current procurement framework. It is positioned as part of Macquarie Government's broader security services portfolio, which includes Security Operations Centre, Secure Internet Gateway, and secure cloud services.
