Advanced EFS Data Recovery (AEFSDR) is a Windows-based tool that decrypts files protected with Microsoft's Encrypting File System (EFS), a component of NTFS. It is designed to restore access to EFS-encrypted files that have become inaccessible due to common administrative or operational scenarios. The tool supports decryption under the following conditions: - The encrypted disk has been moved to a different PC - User accounts or profiles have been deleted - A user has been transferred between domains without EFS consideration - An administrator reset an account password without EFS consideration - The operating system is damaged, corrupted, or unbootable - Windows has been reinstalled or the system partition has been reformatted AEFSDR accesses the file system directly at the sector level to locate encrypted files and available encryption keys. It supports DESX, 3DES, and AES encryption algorithms and is compatible with all consumer and server editions of Windows from Windows 2000 through Windows 10, including Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016. Two editions are available: - Standard Edition (€149): Supports file-level key scanning, backup/restore of keys, and both Wizard and Expert interfaces. - Professional Edition (€299): Adds sector-by-sector disk scanning and analysis of deleted files and keys, enabling recovery from reformatted disks and overwritten Windows installations. A trial version is available but limits decryption to the first 512 bytes of each file.
