Cybersense Deception
Deception-based intrusion detection system for CRITIS compliance

Cybersense Deception Description
Cybersense Deception is an intrusion detection system designed to meet the requirements of the German IT Security Act 2.0 for critical infrastructure operators and companies operating in the special public interest. The system is mandated for deployment by May 1, 2023 under § 8a (1a) of the legislation. The solution provides intrusion detection capabilities without requiring installation of additional agents or software on existing systems. It operates with zero impact on IT and operational technology (OT) environments, addressing the stability requirements of critical infrastructure operators who need to avoid changes to servers and security solutions. The system performs continuous and automatic recording and evaluation of parameters from ongoing operations. It identifies and prevents ongoing threats while providing measures for mitigation of security incidents. The solution is offered as a managed service. Cybersense Deception addresses specific compliance requirements set by the BSI (Federal Office for Information Security), including governance processes for security incidents, systems for systematic evaluation, and support for regular penetration tests and vulnerability handling. The system avoids cloud data storage requirements and is designed to minimize false alerts while meeting the regulatory standards for critical infrastructure sectors including energy, healthcare, telecommunications, water, transport, and other essential services.
