Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access ZTNA 2.0 is a Zero Trust Network Access product by Palo Alto Networks. It is deployed as a cloud service. Pricing is commercial (price not published).
Palo Alto Networks sells ZTNA 2.0 as part of Prisma Access, its cloud-delivered security service. This listing covers the private app access part. It gives users and branch sites least-privilege access to private apps, including cloud-native apps and older legacy apps, and keeps checking each connection after access is granted. App-ID controls access at the app and sub-app level, down to actions such as uploads and downloads. App-ID, User-ID and Device-ID keep checking device posture, user behavior and app behavior during the session. Prisma Access also inspects allowed traffic for threats, and one data loss prevention (DLP) policy can cover private apps and SaaS apps. The ZTNA Connector links Prisma Access to private apps through automated IPSec tunnels, so admins do not set up tunnels or routing by hand. Apps can be defined by FQDN, wildcard, IP address or subnet, which helps when networks overlap after a merger. The connector can also discover apps from an identity provider connected to Cloud Identity Engine. Access is denied by default until a policy rule allows it. ZTNA Connector virtual machines run on AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, VMware ESXi and KVM. Each connector handles up to 2 Gbps, and up to four connectors form a group. It needs Prisma Access 5.0 or later, managed by Strata Cloud Manager or Panorama.
