SensorFu Description

SensorFu is a Finnish cybersecurity company that develops network isolation monitoring and testing tools. Their core product, Beacon, is designed to continuously verify that network segmentation controls are functioning as intended. The product addresses a specific problem: organizations that rely on network isolation (whether for compliance, critical infrastructure protection, or data privacy) often lack reliable, ongoing confirmation that their isolation is actually working. Beacon operates by deploying lightweight agents — referred to as Beacons — into networks that are intended to be isolated. These Beacons actively attempt to reach a central "Home" server using multiple protocols and methods, including IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, ICMP, DNS, Ethernet Broadcast, and IP Payload. If a Beacon succeeds in reaching Home, it indicates a network leak, and the platform alerts the operator via Slack or HTTP API. The product supports several deployment models: a software application installable on Windows and Linux workstations or servers (compatible with management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, GPO, and Microsoft System Center), a virtual machine distributed in OVA format, and a hardware device compatible with Raspberry Pi for physical on-premises deployments. This flexibility allows coverage across bare metal, virtual machines, containers, and edge environments. SensorFu's approach is focused rather than broad — rather than scanning for many potential vulnerabilities across a single location, Beacon is designed to test one specific security control (network isolation) across many locations simultaneously. The company targets customers in sectors where network segregation is a compliance or operational requirement, such as critical infrastructure, payment environments, and organizations handling sensitive data.
