Tempered Networks Airwall Airspan

Airspan is a traffic mirroring feature within Tempered Networks' Airwall platform. It functions as a mirror port on Airwall gateways, which act as tunnel endpoints where traffic is encrypted and decrypted for the Airwall overlay network. Through Airspan, traffic passing through an Airwall gateway can be mirrored to a separate analysis engine or monitoring application. The mirrored traffic is transmitted through its own dedicated Airwall encrypted tunnel to the monitoring destination, allowing traffic visibility to extend across multiple sites or network connections to a centralized analysis solution without exposing that traffic outside of an encrypted overlay. This feature is intended to let organizations use third-party network monitoring, threat detection, and analytics tools alongside Airwall's encrypted overlay networking, rather than requiring a tradeoff between encrypted, segmented connectivity and network traffic visibility. Analysis results and remediation recommendations from connected monitoring tools can be fed back to the Airwall Conductor to adjust network security policies, such as isolating a compromised device into its own network segment. Tempered has a partnership with Nozomi Networks, which provides network and asset visibility and threat detection for OT and IoT environments. Under this integration, Airwall can mirror secured traffic to Nozomi Guardian systems through an encrypted tunnel for further analysis.
