SECWATCH Exposure Control

Exposure Control is a service by SECWATCH that combines continuous external attack surface monitoring with pentest findings, threat information, and manual assessment by ethical hackers to help organizations prioritize which vulnerabilities pose actual risk. Instead of producing long lists of undifferentiated vulnerability alerts, the service analyzes findings from external vulnerability scanning and dynamic application security testing, and has security specialists assess exploitability, impact, and relevance to the organization. This is intended to reduce noise from dashboards and scanners and clarify which issues require immediate action versus which can wait. The offering is structured in three phases: - Scope & setup: defining relevant systems, applications, cloud environments, and use cases, including scans, authentication, and OSINT sources - Prioritization: ethical hackers assess findings based on exploitability, impact, and organizational relevance - Follow-up: critical vulnerabilities are validated and followed up quickly, with reporting, consultation, and recommendations Exposure Control is positioned to support compliance efforts related to NIS2 and ISO 27001 through its reporting and follow-up processes. It is developed by SECWATCH in the Netherlands and hosted within the EU. The service incorporates two underlying components: External Vulnerability Management and Dynamic Application Security Testing.
