Obsidian Security Shadow SaaS is a solution for discovering and managing unmanaged (shadow) SaaS applications within an organization. It correlates signals from browser activity, email, and identity provider (IdP) sources to build a complete inventory of SaaS applications in use, including those not sanctioned or managed by IT. The product provides visibility into which users are accessing which apps, along with contextual risk information to help security teams prioritize remediation efforts. It supports real-time access control actions, such as federating discovered apps to an existing IdP or blocking browser access to specific applications with a single click. The solution targets the security risks associated with shadow IT, including data exposure from sensitive information flowing into unmanaged apps, audit and compliance challenges stemming from incomplete app inventories, and the operational costs associated with late or manual discovery of unauthorized SaaS usage.
