Spam Cube Description

Spam Cube Inc was a cybersecurity company founded in the early 2000s by Joseph P. Marino and Jonathan Fortin. The company developed and sold a hardware network security device, also called the Spam Cube, marketed as the world's first home network security connected device. The Spam Cube device was priced at $150 and was designed to protect up to four computers by being physically connected between a router and a broadband modem. Its primary built-in function was anti-spam protection. Additional security capabilities — including anti-virus and anti-phishing — were delivered through an optional subscription-based managed security service called Security OnDemand, priced at $52 per year. The product launched in March 2006 and received coverage from notable technology journalists, including reviews in PC World and on the front page of the New York Times business section. The company's website also received a WebAward for outstanding achievement in web development. Spam Cube Inc is no longer an active company. Its original website is no longer operational, and the domain now serves as an informational page about the company's history, directing visitors to an archived version of the original site via the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.
