Dominant Information Solutions Canada (DISC) is an Ottawa-based cybersecurity company specializing in space segment security. Its core offering, eClypse, is a hardware-based intrusion detection module designed to operate within the power, memory, and access constraints of satellite systems, where satellites cannot be physically reached for updates once in orbit. DISC's work focuses on developing a reusable, principles-based threat assessment framework applicable across multiple satellite classes and manufacturers, from commercial off-the-shelf small satellites to bespoke mission-critical platforms. The framework analyzes information flows to identify potential corruption points in data streams such as GPS positioning, command telemetry, and sensor imagery, and integrates both hardware and software protection layers. The company was selected by satellite manufacturer OHB SE as a cybersecurity subcontractor for the European Space Agency's Cybersecurity Makerspace program, becoming the only Canadian company among the chosen implementers, with Canadian Space Agency approval required due to Canada's non-EU status. DISC has also partnered with EnduroSat and Stratotegic to advance in-orbit demonstrations of bus-integrated satellite intrusion detection systems, and its eClypse module was developed under Canada's Department of National Defence IDEaS program. The company also won the Airbus InnoMasters Challenge in Germany.
