Secturion DarkStor (DARE) Description
DarkStor is a hardware-based network data-at-rest encryption (DARE) appliance product line developed by Secturion, designed for high-assurance encryption of network file and block storage. It operates as an in-line network Ethernet encryptor, providing transparent encryption without requiring changes to operating systems, software, databases, or storage configurations. The product line includes three variants: - DarkStor-10G Tactical DARE: A 10 Gbps encryptor with a small form factor and low power draw, designed for mobile and tactical platforms. - DarkStor-100G (KG-267) Ground DARE: A 100 Gbps encryptor intended for ground-based deployments. - DarkStor-100G (KG-268) Airborne DARE: A 100 Gbps encryptor designed for airborne platform deployments. DarkStor supports data rates up to 100 Gbps with ultra-low latency and is agnostic to operating systems, software, databases, network configurations (RAID, NAS, SAN, Cloud), media storage devices (HD, SSD, NVMe), storage controllers, and service providers. The hardware-based design enables higher throughput and lower latency compared to software-based alternatives. DarkStor is targeted at defense and government use cases, including DoD networks, addressing the gap where the majority of data at rest remains unencrypted. It is designed to remain compatible with evolving storage technologies and network architectures.
