Owl PaciT is a two-server enterprise solution designed for secure one-way data transfer across network boundaries. The system uses a dedicated send-only server and a dedicated destination-only server connected by Owl's proprietary data diode hardware to create a deterministic one-way only data transfer path. The solution enables raw Ethernet packet transfer at full line rate, allowing organizations to collect and transfer network data from critical infrastructure plant operations to analysis centers for review and long-term storage. It is designed to meet regulatory requirements and compliance standards for secure data transfer across security boundaries. PaciT operates on Owl Security Enhanced Linux (OSEL), a hardened Linux operating system that applies explicit constraints and limits on operating system tasks and software application functions. The OSEL profile prohibits activities that violate defined constraints, disabling applications that attempt to act outside their specific functions. The system implements role-based access controls (RBAC) with explicitly defined administrator profiles and privilege levels. Access levels and permitted functional activities are defined by Owl and the customer operator to maintain security. The architecture supports defense-in-depth strategies for IT/OT environments, providing a component for overall network security. The solution is used in critical infrastructure environments including nuclear power generation facilities for real-time analysis of OT network traffic on isolated forensic networks.
