Crypto4A QxBMC (Blade Module Chassis) is a hardware platform designed to house and power cryptographic infrastructure components through a modular blade architecture. The QxBMC line consists of three chassis models that serve as the physical foundation for deploying cryptographic workloads: - QxBMC-1: Desktop chassis supporting 1 blade module. Intended for development, testing, offline root HSM use, and space-constrained deployments. Includes an extended battery providing up to 5 years of unpowered standby. Power consumption: 36W idle / 80W under load (with QxHSM installed). - QxBMC-3: 1U rack chassis supporting 3 blade modules. Designed for enterprise and government production environments. Features dual redundant, hot-swappable power supplies. Power consumption: 108W idle / 240W under load (with 3x QxHSM). - QxBMC-12: 4U rack chassis supporting 12 blade modules (coming soon). Targets large-scale data center and cloud environments. Includes a dual network 40G switch card with four 10G SFP+ interfaces and dual redundant, hot-swappable power supplies. All QxBMC models share the following capabilities: - Full compatibility with all current and future Crypto4A blade modules, allowing mixed configurations - Crypto4A Lights Out (CLO) management interface for remote monitoring, management, configuration, and troubleshooting, including when the OS is down or the device is powered off - Redundant power through additional power supplies or built-in backup batteries - Scalability by adding blade modules as demand grows Operating temperature range for available models: 0°C to 40°C ambient.
