BIO-key PortalGuard is an Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform that provides Zero Trust-based authentication and access control for organizations. It is available as an IDaaS (cloud-hosted) offering. The platform supports 16 different authentication methods, including passwordless options such as biometrics (palm, face) and passkeys, as well as traditional OTP-based methods. It is designed to protect against phishing by enabling organizations to move away from passwords entirely. PortalGuard covers multiple access scenarios, including browser-based and desktop logins via PortalGuard Desktop, and mobile-based authentication via its MobileAuth component, which supports managed push, palm biometrics, face biometrics, and device-based biometrics such as Apple FaceID. The platform includes Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities that extend to thick client applications in addition to web apps. A Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) module is included to reduce help desk dependency. The platform is highly configurable, supporting customization of authentication pages and OTP methods. It is designed to serve large deployments, with documented use cases involving organizations with over 10,000 users. PortalGuard integrates with Microsoft Entra ID to enhance MFA for those identities. The solution is positioned for compliance use cases, including alignment with FTC regulations.
