Executive summary
As of November 2026, CybersecTools tracks 156 companies that sell human risk solutions as their main business. Phishing Simulation is part of that family. The largest groups are based in the United States, the United Kingdom and Israel. In the last 12 months they raised $292M across 16 funding rounds, 8 companies were acquired and 17 new companies started in the last two years.
From that field we chose seven solutions that send realistic fake phishing to your staff, show who clicks or reports, and teach them on the spot. KnowBe4 Platform suits companies that want a large library of templates and training in many languages that one admin can run. Hoxhunt suits teams that want simulations tuned to each person, with short trainings right after each test. Adaptive Security fits companies worried about deepfake voice calls and SMS as well as email.
The main choice is between a broad awareness platform and a simulation specialist. KnowBe4, SoSafe and usecure pair simulations with full training libraries. Adaptive Security, Keepnet and revel8 focus on realistic attacks across email, SMS, voice and chat.
Ask each vendor how it delivers simulations into inboxes without being blocked by your own email security, because delivery problems ruin results.
How we evaluated
We looked at 73 phishing simulation solutions from 57 companies, and the 7 on this page made the cut. We combined our judgment from years of leading enterprise security programs with market data from Mandos, our market intelligence platform, and with the vendor and review pages listed under Sources at the end of this page. For customer feedback, we left out paid reviews, reviews by vendor staff or partners, review campaigns and anything older than two years, so you get an accurate view of what customers say.
Four traits mattered most: realistic simulations across email and other channels; training that follows a failed test; reporting by person, team and over time; and connections to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace and your identity provider. We left out managed campaign services and single-channel products. The order follows how widely each product is used by teams like yours. Company momentum shows how the vendor itself is growing, so a market leader can rank first with a lower score.

What is Phishing Simulation
Phishing simulation products send fake but realistic phishing to your own staff, by email and often by SMS, voice, QR code or chat. They record who opens, clicks, enters a password or reports the message, then give short training to people who fall for it. Reports show how risk changes over time by team or location.
This matters because most breaches start with a person clicking or sharing a login. Regular simulations teach staff to spot and report real attacks, and they give you data to show auditors and insurers that training works. Over time, fewer clicks and faster reports mean fewer real incidents.

Our take
KnowBe4 Platform pairs security awareness training with simulated phishing and measures each person's phish-prone percentage over time. It adds compliance training in 35 languages, real-time coaching when people do something risky and AI agents through AIDA.
The wider platform also includes email security and anti-phishing response for security teams.
It earns its place because one admin can run simulations, training and measurement from one large library. It fits companies of any size, and global ones most, since content comes in many languages. Because the platform also sells email security and phishing response, decide whether you want one vendor for both or only for training.
KnowBe4 Platform main features

- Cloud email security with adaptive controls
- Anti-phishing protection and security orchestration
- Real-time security coaching for risky behavior
- Compliance training with continuously updated content

What customers say
- Most praised:
- Ease of use, Reports, Interface
- Most criticized:
- Missing features, Setup
KnowBe4 runs phishing tests and security training on a steady schedule, and customers credit its realistic phishing emails and large library of interactive lessons with making staff more careful about what they click. Admins, including non-technical ones, find it easy to run, and support gets good marks when problems come up. The one shared complaint is the first setup, since connecting it to company systems took longer than planned for some teams.

Funding, hiring and news for Hoxhunt on Mandos.
Our take
Hoxhunt sends AI-generated phishing simulations by email, Slack and Microsoft Teams, tuned to each person's department, location and progress. A short training starts right after each simulation, and gamified modules keep people engaged.

It is here because it tunes each simulation to the person and follows it with a short training right away, across email and chat. It fits companies of any size that measure behavior change, not just course completion. Slack and Teams are its listed integrations, so ask how it connects to your email platform and identity provider.

Our take
Adaptive Security runs simulations across email, voice, SMS and video, including business email compromise, vendor impersonation and malicious attachments. It uses AI to create voice calls with custom personas, which can be modeled on your own executives, and builds spear-phishing from public information about your company.
A Phishing Alert Button lets staff report messages, AI sorts the reports, and you can remove a threat from every inbox. Training campaigns follow how people report.
It earns a place because it tests staff across voice, SMS and video as well as email, including calls modeled on your own leaders. It fits companies of any size that worry about deepfake and phone-based attacks. Simulations that copy real executives can be sensitive, so agree on who approves those scenarios before you run them.
Adaptive Security Phishing Simulations main features
- Email phishing simulations with BEC and vendor impersonation scenarios
- AI-generated voice phishing simulations with custom personas
- SMS phishing simulations
- Multichannel phishing scenarios across email, voice, and text
- OSINT-based spearphishing email generation
- End-to-end customization of simulation content and branding
- Phishing Alert Button for user reporting
- AI-powered triage and classification of reported emails
Adaptive Security Phishing Simulations main integrations

What customers say
- Most praised:
- Ease of use, Support, Reports
- Most criticized:
- Missing features
Adaptive stands out for realistic tests that go past plain email, including deepfake simulations, and for per-person results that show who clicked, reported or still has training due. Admins find it intuitive, so campaigns are quick to set up, and sign-in and user sync through standard SAML go in without outside help. Support gets steady praise, with customers calling the team knowledgeable and responsive.

Our take
revel8 simulates social engineering by email, SMS, deepfake voice and video, Microsoft Teams and social media. It scans more than 400 public data points to find exposed employee information and uses it to personalize attacks.
Training arrives at the moment of risky behavior, and reported threats become new simulations. Staff can report calls through a mobile app, and it works inside Outlook and Gmail.
It belongs here because it tests channels beyond email, such as deepfake video, Teams and social media, and uses public data to make each attack personal. It fits companies from startups to large enterprises. Because it scans public data about your staff, check how it handles that data and who sees the results.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should we run phishing simulations?
Most companies run them at least monthly, with varied timing and difficulty. Regular tests build habits better than one big campaign a year.
Should we simulate SMS and voice phishing too?
Yes, if attackers reach your staff that way. Text and phone scams, including deepfake voices, are growing, and several products here cover them.
Will our email security block simulations?
It can. Most products here deliver straight into inboxes or give you settings to allow their messages, so check this during a pilot.
What should we measure?
Track the report rate as well as the click rate. Staff who report suspicious mail quickly help your security team stop real attacks.
Do simulations upset staff?
They can if they feel like traps. Explain the program, keep training short and positive, and avoid scenarios that cause real distress.
