VXRL is a Hong Kong based cybersecurity research and services group that has operated since 2010. It was founded by a group of security researchers who also speak at and organize workshops and villages at global security conferences including DEF CON in the USA and Beijing, Hack in the Box in Amsterdam, Hack in Taiwan, DFRWS EU, and SANS DFIR. The company provides a range of cybersecurity services, including vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, red team testing, AI red teaming, incident response, application security and secure coding training, corporate training, consultancy services, software development, AI bug hunting, AI research, and AI security training. VXRL's work is grounded in security research, including analysis of software, malware, smartphones, and IoT devices, and the team collaborates with international research groups on malware, cyberattack, and vulnerability research. The team applies an offense oriented approach, working from an attacker perspective to understand and address security issues. VXRL also organizes VXCON, a regional cybersecurity conference held in Hong Kong where speakers and researchers from around the world present on malware, threats, exploitation, and cyber defense. Many VXCON speakers are also contributors to conferences such as Blackhat, DEF CON, and HITCON. The organization additionally engages with the community by providing security awareness seminars to schools and NGOs. Its core team and advisors hold industry certifications such as OSEE, GXPN, GCIH, GREM, OSCP, GWAPT, CISSP, CISA, and AWS security certifications, and include specialists in areas such as AI and machine learning security, hardware, and pwnable research.
