Terafence

Terafence is a cybersecurity company based in Haifa, Israel, founded in 2015, that develops hardware-based solutions for isolating and protecting operational technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS), and IoT devices from cyber threats. The company's core technology is a proprietary firmware and microchip solution called TFence, built on a distinctive FPGA design, which functions as a unidirectional gateway and data diode. This technology controls the direction of data flow, allowing data to flow outward while completely blocking incoming data, thereby preventing tampering and hacking of connected devices such as IP cameras, sensors, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Terafence's products are designed to be compact, user-friendly, and lower cost compared to traditional data diode solutions, targeting industries with critical infrastructure needs, including smart cities, smart factories (Industry 4.0), utilities, and power generation and transmission networks. Their approach focuses on physically isolating OT/ICS environments from external networks to reduce the risk of cyberattacks reaching mission-critical equipment.
