Strongarm Description
Strongarm was a cybersecurity company developed by Percipient Networks that focused on DNS-based security solutions, primarily targeting small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and distributed enterprises. The company provided DNS filtering and monitoring services designed to block malicious traffic, protect users from phishing attacks, and analyze suspicious activity on customer networks. Strongarm offered a cloud-based dashboard that allowed customers to monitor DNS alerts and receive recommendations from an in-house analysis team. This team triaged suspicious phishing messages forwarded by customers and provided actionable guidance in response to detected threats. The platform was designed to be simple and easy to use, catering to organizations without large internal security teams. The company also supported a channel and managed service provider (MSP) model, offering programs for partners to deliver security services to their own customers. Strongarm served its customer base for approximately three years before being acquired by WatchGuard Technologies. Following the acquisition, Strongarm's technology and service were rebranded as DNSWatch and integrated into WatchGuard's product portfolio, with a focus on expanding protections for off-network users and enhancing phishing defense capabilities.
