real-time systems gmbh Description
Real-Time Systems is a German manufacturer of hypervisor technology founded in 2006 as a spin-off of KUKA, with headquarters in Ravensburg, Germany. The company specializes in real-time virtualization through its RTS Hypervisor product, a Type I (bare metal) hypervisor designed for x86-based PC platforms. The RTS Hypervisor securely partitions PC hardware into separate environments, each consisting of dedicated CPU cores, memory, timers, and I/O devices. The technology enables multiple operating systems to run in parallel without interrupting each other, supporting configurations from full isolation to hard real-time execution. The hypervisor supports various operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Windows Embedded Compact, VxWorks, XENOMAI, TenAsys Intime, RTOS-32, QNX, Linux, real-time Linux, and T-Kernel. The product offers different deployment modes: fully monitored mode for complete isolation with slight performance overhead, and privileged mode for hard real-time applications that allows operating systems to run at native speed without added latencies. The hypervisor supports standard PCI and PCIe device pass-through, AHCI and xHCI controller sharing, and features like MMU virtualization, I/O restrictions, and IOMMU for security and memory protection. Real-Time Systems serves various industries worldwide where real-time performance and system isolation are critical requirements. The technology is developed entirely in-house in Germany and is not subject to export restrictions.
