Confluera Description
Confluera is a cloud security company that developed the CxDR (Cloud eXtended Detection and Response) platform, designed to detect and respond to cyberattacks occurring within cloud environments. The platform targets multi-cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructures, providing visibility and monitoring across workload, control plane, and data plane layers. The core technology behind Confluera's platform is a patented Continuous Attack Graph, which ingests large volumes of telemetry events from cloud workloads, serverless functions, and control plane sources. Rather than generating individual alerts, the system assembles activity trails by tracking the behaviors of all actors across the infrastructure, then correlates these trails with threat detections and third-party security signals to identify a small number of high-priority attack incidents. This approach is positioned to reduce alert volume by up to 98% and accelerate investigation times. A key feature is the "Attack Storyboard," which provides a real-time, visual timeline of an attack's progression — including where it originated, lateral movement, container-to-host transitions, and all affected workloads. The platform also integrates vulnerability and configuration risk data from shift-left and CSPM tools to help prioritize investigations based on runtime exposure. Confluera's capabilities include multi-cloud visibility and observability, cloud workload threat detection, cloud-native threat detections, runtime container security, proactive threat hunting, anomaly detection, incident response automation, and integration with third-party security signals. The company was acquired by XM Cyber, an attack path management firm.
