BlackBerry operates a Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE) in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, focused on cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development. The center delivers professional certification programs and leadership training initiatives in partnership with organizations including Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, the Government of Canada, and the SANS Institute. The CCoE offers the Certifications for Leadership in Cybersecurity (CLIC) program, a six-month part-time virtual training program that provides dual GIAC certifications (GFACT and GSEC). The curriculum covers practical programming, enterprise infrastructure, network and cloud security, compliance and audit, vulnerability management, operating system security, endpoint security, and data security. Students receive instruction through SANS courses, hands-on training in the Catalyst Cyber Range, and career development support including mentorship, resume building, and interview preparation. This program focuses on cybersecurity strategy, digital risk management, executive leadership, and includes sessions on regional threat landscapes, cyber governance, emerging technologies, AI in cybersecurity, and executive communication. Both programs target working professionals, career changers, IT professionals transitioning to cybersecurity, and new graduates seeking entry into the cybersecurity field. The training emphasizes technical skills development, professional certifications, and building a connected community of cybersecurity practitioners in the region.
