Security University Q/EH Qualified Ethical Hacker Description

Security University's Q/EH (Qualified/Ethical Hacker) is a certification training program focused on ethical hacking and network defense skills. The course is designed as an intermediate-level training positioned between Security+ and CISSP certifications. The program consists of 40 hours of face-to-face instructor-led training delivered in a residential format. Students complete over 35 hands-on tactical security labs covering 22 domains including footprinting, scanning, enumeration, system hacking, trojans and backdoors, sniffers, denial of service, social engineering, session hijacking, web server and application vulnerabilities, SQL injection, wireless network hacking, viruses and worms, IDS/firewalls/honeypots, buffer overflows, cryptography, and penetration testing methodologies. The training utilizes real-world scenarios and current hacking tools rather than outdated materials. Students work with tools including Nmap, Nessus, Metasploit, Wireshark, John the Ripper, Cain and Abel, Snort, and various other reconnaissance, exploitation, and analysis tools. Lab environments run on dual-core systems with 18GB RAM using Windows, Linux, and VMware Workstation. The certification exam is administered on-site on the final day of class. Passing requires 95% attendance and 100% completion of labs. The program awards 40 CPE credits and 3 CEU credits upon completion. Prerequisites include understanding of TCP/IP protocols.
