Their primary product, vCage, was designed to secure x86 servers through three core mechanisms: software-based server attestation, full-memory encryption, and operating system hardening. Together, these capabilities formed a trusted computing foundation for physical and virtualized server environments. Server attestation, as addressed by PrivateCore, refers to the process of verifying the integrity of a server's software stack before it is trusted to process sensitive data. Full-memory encryption protects data residing in RAM from physical memory attacks — a class of threats where an attacker with physical access to a server can extract sensitive data directly from memory chips or via hardware interfaces. OS hardening reduces the attack surface of the underlying operating system to limit exploitation vectors. PrivateCore's solutions were aimed at organizations concerned with insider threats, data center physical security, and the integrity of servers handling sensitive workloads, particularly in cloud and hosted environments. The company addressed side-channel attacks as part of its security research and product scope.
