Picus Security Description
Picus Security develops a security validation platform that helps organizations test and improve their cyber defenses. Founded in 2013, the company pioneered Breach and Attack Simulation (BAS) technology and has evolved into what it calls Adversarial Exposure Validation. The Picus Security Validation Platform combines three core capabilities: Automated Penetration Testing, Breach and Attack Simulation, and Rule Validation. The platform simulates real-world cyber attacks across an organization's security infrastructure to identify gaps in defenses before actual attackers can exploit them. It correlates and prioritizes security exposures across different tools and systems, helping security teams focus on critical vulnerabilities that pose the highest risk. The platform provides continuous validation of security controls and offers one-click mitigation recommendations to address identified weaknesses. It integrates with existing security tools through an open-platform approach, allowing organizations to validate the effectiveness of their current security investments across multiple defense layers including network security, endpoint protection, email security, and cloud environments. Picus has raised $80 million in total funding, including a $45 million Series C round in 2024 led by Riverwood Capital. The company has a strategic partnership with Mastercard, which powers Mastercard's Cyber Front platform using Picus technology. Picus serves enterprise customers globally and maintains technology alliances and channel partnerships to extend its reach.
