nebty is a Munich-based startup that provides a brand protection platform aimed at small and mid-sized businesses that do not have a dedicated security team. The platform covers monitoring, detection, and takedown of digital brand abuse such as fake shops and other online fraud targeting brands. Each finding in the platform includes evidence, context, and suggested next actions, and monitoring and takedown workflows are run in a single operational system. The company offers demos and a free audit/report for prospective customers. nebty also publishes research on fraud infrastructure. It has been credited with discovering the DoppelCart fake shop network, which reports describe as comprising about 119,000 fake shops, and the research has been covered by outlets such as BleepingComputer, Fox News, and Golem.de. The CEO and co-founder, Benedikt Scheungraber, was interviewed in an ARD documentary on how scammers use Google to lure consumers to fake shops. The company also runs Hinweishelden, a free platform for consumers in German-speaking countries to report fraudulent websites and fake shops and search existing reports. Listed customers include OpenRouter, Cashlink, Finanzguru, and esyoil.
