Cortex Security S.A. Description
Cortex Security S.A. builds DataSecure RDR, a ransomware detection and response tool that catches what traditional EDR/XDR solutions miss. Most endpoint security tools rely on threat intelligence and signature-based detection. That works against known ransomware, but falls short against zero-days and targeted attacks where there's no signature to match. By the time these tools react, files are already being encrypted. DataSecure RDR skips signatures entirely. It detects ransomware based on the principles of modern cryptography, watching for cryptographic behavior and encryption intent at the pre-execution stage, before any damage is done. This makes it effective against novel and obfuscated ransomware that signature-based tools can't catch in time. The agent is built to run alongside your existing security stack, not replace it. It uses less than 1% CPU and under 5MB of RAM, deploys through standard tools like Intune or SCCM, and runs on a cloud-native backend with minimal setup. Multiple independent detection layers operate in parallel, each analyzing behavior patterns rather than checking against known threat databases. This layered approach is what gives DataSecure RDR its 98%+ detection rate against zero-day ransomware variants. Early adoption has been strongest in IT and financial services, though ransomware doesn't discriminate by sector, and neither do we. Cortex Security S.A. went through Luxembourg's Fit 4 Start accelerator (15th edition) and won the Cybersecurity Startup of the Year award at the 2024 Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg.
