BastionZero Description
BastionZero was acquired by Cloudflare in May 2024 and its technology is being integrated into Cloudflare's Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solution. The company developed technology for securing privileged access to infrastructure resources including servers (SSH, RDP), Kubernetes clusters, and databases using zero trust principles. The original BastionZero product provided organizations with the ability to implement zero trust controls for sensitive infrastructure resources without requiring traditional VPNs or bastion hosts. The technology enabled granular access policies and authentication mechanisms for infrastructure access. Following the acquisition, BastionZero's technology is being natively rebuilt as Cloudflare's Access for Infrastructure service, which extends Cloudflare's ZTNA capabilities to cover infrastructure targets. The legacy BastionZero product continues to be maintained for existing customers during the transition period. BastionZero also contributed to the development of OpenPubkey, an open source project created in partnership with Docker and the Linux Foundation. The company's technology is designed to help organizations consolidate privileged infrastructure access policies into their broader Secure Service Edge (SSE) or Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architectures.
