Avydos Description

Avydos is a DDoS threat simulation platform developed by zeroBS GmbH, designed for security engineers, architects, and auditors. The platform enables controlled, self-service DDoS testing to assess the operational resilience of IT infrastructures against distributed denial-of-service attacks. The platform supports Layer 3/4 (volumetric) and Layer 7 (application-layer) DDoS attack simulations, including single- and multi-vector attack scenarios. It is cloud-based, available 24/7, and provides real-time dashboards for traffic monitoring, test targets, and sensor-based measurements of filter quality and response speed. Avydos uses a proprietary scoring methodology called the DRS (DDoS Resiliency Score), which provides a standardized framework for evaluating and quantifying an organization's resilience against DDoS attacks. The framework includes DDoS threat modeling, test criteria, individualization options, and resilience assessment. Key use cases include: - Identifying misconfigurations in WAF, firewall, IDS/IPS components - Detecting orchestration issues and infrastructure dependencies under load - Validating third-party and cloud DDoS protection measures - Supporting compliance with DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) and NIS2 regulations - Uncovering blind spots in incident response processes The platform has been used to test DDoS protection technologies from vendors including Cloudflare, Akamai, F5, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco, and others. Target industries include banking, insurance, automotive, energy, e-commerce, logistics, healthcare, and public administration. Avydos is offered in three tiers: Basic, Expert, and Enterprise levels.
