Redpalm offers a certification service for the UK government-backed Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus schemes. The service assists organisations of all sizes in achieving certification against these two tiers of the Cyber Essentials framework, which was launched in 2014 to help businesses defend against common cyber threats. Cyber Essentials (Basic) involves a self-assessed questionnaire that is independently verified. It confirms that an organisation's IT infrastructure meets the baseline standard across five technical control areas: firewalls, secure configuration, access management, malware protection, and patch management. Certification is required for certain UK public-sector contracts. Cyber Essentials Plus builds on the Basic tier by adding an independent technical audit conducted by a trained auditor from an IASME-governed certification body. The audit verifies that all controls declared in the self-assessment are properly implemented within the organisation's network. Cyber Essentials Plus must be completed within 3 months of achieving the Basic certification. Redpalm acts as a certification body for both tiers. Their consultants review an organisation's current security setup, help resolve gaps, and guide them through the assessment process. Assessments are only submitted once the organisation is deemed ready to pass, to avoid retest fees. The service is delivered with a dedicated client manager and technical engineer assigned to each organisation, with support provided in-person or via remote video meetings.
