Traffic IQ Gateway is a Windows-based software solution that functions as an IP-level gateway designed to apply Advanced Evasion Techniques (AET) to network traffic. It is used to evaluate the recognition and response capabilities of security defences such as routers, application layer firewalls, and intrusion detection and prevention systems. The gateway operates using two network adapters, passing packets bi-directionally between them. When packets are received, evasion techniques are applied before routing to the destination. It binds directly to virtual or physical network adapters, bypassing the operating system's TCP/IP stack to enable advanced packet manipulation. **IP Evasion Techniques:** - IP fragmentation at any valid size (8-byte micro fragments up to MTU) - Null fragment insertion (before or after original fragment) - Out-of-sequence fragments - Selective fragmentation by packet type **HTTP Evasion Techniques:** - URI encoding and random URI encoding - Session splicing - Invalid version number - Fake parameter - Prepend random string - Mix case and random case URL requests - Tab separator requests - Reverse backslash Evasion techniques can be applied in any combination to inbound and/or outbound traffic simultaneously, and settings can be adjusted in real-time while the gateway is running.
