Enginsight IT Asset Management Solution (ITAM) is a network inventory and asset management tool that provides automated discovery and continuous monitoring of IT assets across a network. It is available as both SaaS and on-premises deployments, and supports Windows, Linux, and macOS environments. The solution operates through two primary components: - A Watchdog agent performs agentless network scanning by monitoring network traffic and conducting active network scans to detect all devices with an IP address, including switches, printers, clients, and servers. - A Pulsar agent can be installed on individual servers and clients to enable agent-based inventory, retrieving detailed hardware information (model designations, serial numbers) and software inventory data, including for assets outside the local network. Assets can be categorized, tagged, assigned responsible team members, and marked to distinguish between official IT and shadow IT. Inventory data can be exported for external use. The platform supports defining alert recipients per asset based on assigned responsibilities. The software inventory capability allows administrators to search across all servers and clients for specific software, export software lists, and detect outdated software versions. Detected assets and their associated data serve as the basis for security audits, automated penetration testing target selection, and CVE vulnerability scanning. The asset inventory integrates with Enginsight's broader cybersecurity platform features, including security monitoring, vulnerability detection, and automated penetration testing.
