Executive summary
As of November 2026, CybersecTools tracks 99 companies that sell cloud security solutions as their main business. The largest groups are based in the United States, Israel and Australia. In the last 12 months they raised $1.1B across 19 funding rounds and 13 new companies started in the last two years.
From that field we chose seven solutions that find and fix risk across your AWS, Azure and Google Cloud accounts. Wiz leads for teams that want agentless visibility and attack path ranking across every cloud. Microsoft Defender for Cloud suits companies that run mostly on Azure. CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security fits teams that want agent and agentless protection in one product.
The main choice is agentless versus agent-based. Agentless products connect through cloud APIs and show results quickly. Agent-based products add runtime protection on each workload but take longer to roll out. Most products here now offer both.
Ask how each product ranks findings and how much tuning it needs. The best ones show which risks are reachable, so your team fixes those first.
How we evaluated
We looked at 332 cloud security solutions from 159 companies, and the 7 on this page made the cut. We combined our judgment from years of leading enterprise security programs with market data from Mandos, our market intelligence platform, and with the vendor and review pages listed under Sources at the end of this page. For customer feedback, we left out paid reviews, reviews by vendor staff or partners, review campaigns and anything older than two years, so you get an accurate view of what customers say.
Four traits mattered most: coverage across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud; ranking risks by what is truly reachable; protection for running workloads, not only settings; and links to the ticketing and security systems your team uses. We left out products built for one cloud provider or one app, and single-feature storage scanners. The order follows how widely each product is used by teams like yours. Company momentum shows how the vendor itself is growing, so a market leader can rank first with a lower score.

What is Cloud Security
Cloud security products protect what your company runs in public clouds such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. They find misconfigured storage, weak permissions, unpatched workloads and exposed secrets. Many combine posture management, workload protection, identity checks and code scanning in one platform, often called a CNAPP. One product here covers a different layer: the data your staff move into SaaS apps.
For you, this matters because many cloud breaches start with a simple mistake, such as public storage or an account with too much access. Cloud accounts change every day, and a manual review cannot keep up. A cloud security product checks every account all the time and tells you which problems to fix first.

Our take
Wiz Cloud connects to your cloud accounts through APIs, with no agents, and builds an inventory within minutes. It covers posture management, vulnerability scanning, cloud permissions, containers and Kubernetes, sensitive data, AI services and infrastructure as code. Its Security Graph links these findings to show real attack paths, so you fix the risks that matter first.
It connects to Cortex XSOAR, IBM QRadar SOAR, D3 Security and Cyware, among others. Wiz is now part of Google.
It earns its place because it covers posture, vulnerabilities, permissions, data and code across every account without agents, and the Security Graph joins those findings into attack paths, which is the ranking this list asks for. That makes it a fit for companies of any size that want coverage across several clouds fast. Since it scans without agents, ask how it protects workloads while they run if that matters to you.

What customers say
- Most praised:
- Asset discovery, Setup
- Most criticized:
- Missing features, False positives
Wiz connects to cloud accounts through their APIs without agents, so customers see results within hours or days instead of weeks. What keeps them on it is one view of risk across every cloud account, ranked by real attack paths, which tells the team what to fix first. The catch is cost, because it runs higher than similar products, and some findings still need tuning before the alert list feels clean.

Our take
Tenable Cloud Security is a CNAPP for multi-cloud and hybrid cloud. It covers posture management, cloud permissions with just-in-time access, workload and Kubernetes protection, sensitive data, infrastructure as code and AI services. It looks for toxic combinations of misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, risky identities and exposed data, then maps the attack paths between them.
Tenable belongs here because it ranks toxic combinations of misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, identities and data, so you see which mix of issues opens a real path to your assets. Just-in-time access makes it a good fit if cloud permissions worry you most, and it is built for mid-market and enterprise estates. If you already run Tenable for vulnerability management, ask how the cloud findings join that view.
Tenable Cloud Security main features
- Cloud security posture management (CSPM)
- Global cloud asset inventory
- Automatic asset discovery and misconfiguration detection
- Cloud infrastructure entitlements management (CIEM)
- Just-in-time access
- Workload protection for containers, Kubernetes and serverless

What customers say
Teams use it to see risk across all their cloud accounts in one place, which makes it easier to spot misconfigurations and decide what to fix first. The catch is alert volume, because it flags a lot at the start and you have to spend time tuning out low-priority findings before the important ones stand out.

Our take
CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security is a CNAPP that combines an agent with agentless scanning. It covers cloud detection and response, posture management, workload and container protection, infrastructure as code, cloud permissions, sensitive data and AI services. It adds CrowdStrike threat intelligence and 24/7 managed detection for active cloud attacks.
It connects to Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo, JFrog Artifactory, Docker Hub and the major cloud registries, so it can scan images before they ship.
It makes the list because it pairs agentless posture checks with an agent that protects running workloads, so you get both sides of the agentless versus agent choice in one product. The 24/7 managed detection suits a team that cannot watch cloud alerts around the clock. Weigh the rollout, because runtime protection only covers the workloads where the agent is installed.
CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security main features
- Real-time cloud detection and response (CDR)
- Agentless cloud posture management (CSPM)
- Cloud workload protection (CWPP)

What customers say
- Most praised:
- Asset discovery, False positives
- Most criticized:
- Reports, Ease of use
Falcon Cloud Security pulls every cloud account into one console with a near real-time view, so teams stop jumping between consoles and spend less time on manual checks. Customers also say it points them to the risks that are actually reachable, and it helps them stay ready for audits. That said, the menus, policy settings and custom reports take a while to learn, so expect a slower first few months.

Microsoft Defender for Cloud covers posture management and workload protection across Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. Its Secure Score rates your posture and lists fixes in order. It also tracks regulatory compliance, maps attack paths and offers separate protection plans for servers, containers, databases, storage, APIs and key vaults.
It connects to ServiceNow, IBM QRadar, Elastic, Cortex XSOAR, Tenable, Qualys and Rapid7, among others.
Defender for Cloud earns a spot because it puts posture, compliance tracking, attack paths and workload protection for Azure, AWS and Google Cloud in one place, and Secure Score gives you an ordered list of fixes. It is aimed at mid-market and enterprise estates. The protection plans are separate for servers, containers, databases, storage and APIs, so decide which ones you need before you compare it with the rest.

What customers say
- Most praised:
- Integrations, Asset discovery, Reports
- Most criticized:
- False positives, Price
It makes the most sense when your estate already runs on Azure, because it plugs into the rest of the Microsoft security stack and gives one view of misconfigurations and compliance gaps across it. The catch is noise, since alert volume and generic recommendations need steady tuning, and identity permission checks flag accounts Microsoft's own policies created, which drags secure scores down until you pile up exclusions. Charges tied to how much data it scans or takes in also draw complaints for running high.

Our take
SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is a CNAPP that runs from build time to runtime. It covers posture management, workload protection, cloud detection and response, cloud permissions, external attack surface and AI services. It deploys without agents for visibility and adds real-time AI protection on workloads, including containers, Kubernetes, virtual machines and serverless.
It links cloud, endpoint and identity data, and it automates investigation with Purple AI and no-code workflows.
Singularity Cloud Security is here because it covers both posture and runtime, with agentless scans for visibility and real-time protection on the workloads themselves. That suits a SOC that wants cloud, endpoint and identity data side by side when it investigates. Ask how much investigation work Purple AI and the no-code workflows will really take off your team.
SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security main features
- Cloud workload security for containers, VMs, and AI workloads
- Runtime threat detection and containment
- Lateral movement prevention
- Exploitable risk prioritization with contextual evidence
- Early risk detection before production

Our take
Zscaler Cloud Access Security Broker protects SaaS apps and cloud platforms in two ways. Inline, it inspects traffic to find shadow IT, block sensitive uploads and stop malware. Out of band, it scans apps through APIs to find sensitive data and risky file shares, then revokes shares by policy. This is a different job from the workload products above.
It connects to Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Amazon S3, CrowdStrike and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, among others. It is part of Zscaler's wider security service edge platform.
It is on this list for a different job, because it protects the SaaS apps and cloud platforms your people use, not the workloads you run. Since it works inline and through APIs, it can stop a risky upload as it happens and clean up old file shares later. It fits best if you already route traffic through Zscaler's service edge, but you still need a workload product for your own cloud accounts.
Zscaler Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) main features
- Multimode CASB
- Inline security for data in motion
- TLS/SSL inspection
- Shadow IT discovery with risk scores
- Data loss prevention for sanctioned and unsanctioned apps

Our take
Orca Security Platform scans cloud workloads without agents using SideScanning, which reads each workload's storage in a read-only copy, so nothing runs on the workload itself. It covers posture management, cloud permissions, vulnerabilities, sensitive data, containers and Kubernetes, APIs and AI services, and joins them in one data model with attack path analysis and a risk score. It supports AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud, and sends findings to Jira, Splunk, PagerDuty, Tines, Snowflake and Amazon Security Lake.
It earns its place because it reaches more cloud providers than most picks here without installing anything, which suits companies with accounts spread across several clouds. Since the scanning is agentless, ask how it detects and stops attacks while workloads run, and how quickly new findings appear.

What customers say
- Most praised:
- Setup, Integrations, Audit and compliance
- Most criticized:
- Missing features, Interface
Orca connects to cloud accounts without installing agents, so customers say setup is simple and they quickly see every asset in one place. Its risk scoring weighs how exposed an issue really is, which helps teams fix what matters first and spend less time on alerts. Many also lean on it for compliance reports and for scanning code and pipelines before changes ship. The catch is that the built-in dashboards and reports are weak, so expect to rework them, and longtime users say daily work only gets easy once its automations are set up.

If you want runtime protection on each workload, CrowdStrike and SentinelOne add it.
Orca suits teams with accounts across many clouds that want agentless coverage. Tenable fits teams that use Tenable elsewhere. Zscaler CASB solves a different problem: protecting data in SaaS apps.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a CNAPP?
A CNAPP, or cloud-native application protection platform, combines several cloud security checks in one product. It usually covers settings, workloads, permissions and code. Most products on this list are CNAPPs.
Should I choose agentless or agent-based protection?
Agentless products connect through cloud APIs and give you a full view quickly. Agents run on each workload and can stop attacks as they happen. Many teams start agentless and add agents to their most important workloads.
Do I need this if my cloud provider has built-in security?
Built-in protection works well inside one cloud. If you use more than one cloud, or want one view and one set of priorities, a separate product helps.
How is a CASB different from a CNAPP?
A CASB protects the data your staff put into SaaS apps, such as Microsoft 365 or Salesforce. A CNAPP protects the cloud infrastructure your company builds and runs. Many companies need both.
Why do the alerts need so much tuning?
Cloud accounts hold thousands of resources, and every product flags many issues at first. Reviewers of several products here report weeks of tuning. Ask each vendor how it ranks findings and how long tuning usually takes.
Why do some products have no customer section?
We only summarize customer views when we find enough first-hand reviews from more than one place. If a product has too few public reviews, ask that vendor for references.
