Executive summary

As of November 2026, CybersecTools tracks 165 companies that sell threat intelligence solutions as their main business. Brand Protection is part of that family. The largest groups are based in the United States, the United Kingdom and Israel. In the last 12 months they raised $1.0B across 23 funding rounds, 5 companies were acquired and 17 new companies started in the last two years.

From that field we chose seven solutions that find fake sites, lookalike domains and fake accounts that use your brand, then get them taken down. Fortra Brand Protection suits teams that want analysts to curate threats and run takedowns for them. ZeroFox fits companies whose biggest worry is fake social accounts and impersonation. Bolster suits teams that want automated takedowns with quick setup.

KELA, Check Point and SOCRadar add dark web monitoring alongside brand checks. The main choice is how takedowns work. Some products include unlimited takedowns. Others meter them with credits or bundles, which adds up when you have many targets.

Ask how takedowns are priced before you compare anything else. Then test detection on your own brand names during a trial.

How we evaluated

We looked at 39 brand protection solutions from 25 companies, and the 7 on this page made the cut. We combined our judgment from years of leading enterprise security programs with market data from Mandos, our market intelligence platform, and with the vendor and review pages listed under Sources at the end of this page. For customer feedback, we left out paid reviews, reviews by vendor staff or partners, review campaigns and anything older than two years, so you get an accurate view of what customers say.

Four traits mattered most: coverage across domains, social media, app stores and the dark web; detection quality, so your team is not buried in noise; how takedowns work and how they are priced; and how alerts reach the systems your team already uses. We left out email authentication products, which solve a different problem. The order follows how widely each product is used by teams like yours. Company momentum shows how the vendor itself is growing, so a market leader can rank first with a lower score.

What is Brand Protection

Brand protection finds the places online where someone pretends to be your company. That includes lookalike domains, phishing sites that copy your login page, fake social media accounts, copycat mobile apps and counterfeit listings. The product watches these channels all day, flags new abuse, and sends takedown requests to registrars, hosts and platforms to get it removed.

For you, this matters because attackers use your name to trick your customers and staff. A fake login page can steal passwords soon after it goes live. A fake support account can ask customers for card details.

Each one costs trust and money, and your team cannot search the whole internet by hand. Brand protection does that search for you and handles the removal work.

Our take +

Fortra Brand Protection watches the surface web, dark web, social media, mobile app stores and email for threats aimed at your brand. Analysts review what the system collects to cut false positives before alerts reach you. It covers lookalike domains, phishing sites, fake social accounts, account takeover attempts and leaked data.

To remove threats, it uses its own killswitches, a takedown network and browser blocking. You manage cases in a web application.

Fortra earns its place because analysts review what the system collects before alerts reach you, which helps a team that has no time to triage every lookalike. It runs takedowns through its own network and killswitches, so it fits mid-market and enterprise teams that want that work handled for them. Ask how takedowns are priced, and how alerts reach your other systems, because no integrations are listed.

Fortra Brand Protection main features +
  • Domain monitoring for impersonation and fraudulent registrations
  • Phishing site and email detection
  • Social media monitoring for brand impersonation and fake accounts
  • Dark web scanning for stolen credentials and leaked data
  • Fraud prevention monitoring
  • Takedown support for malicious domains and phishing infrastructure
What customers say+

Customers rely on it to watch for brand abuse across websites, social media, the dark web and app stores, and to take down the phishing sites and fake domains it finds. Its case manager keeps that work in one place, which reviewers find easy to follow. The catch is getting started, because setup and onboarding take real effort before it runs smoothly.

Before you buy +

Where it is strong

  • Analyst review cuts false positives before alerts
  • Killswitches and a takedown network for removal
  • Covers email, social media, app stores and the dark web

Our take +

ZeroFox Brand Protection monitors more than 180 platforms, including social media, app stores, job boards, marketplaces and the dark web. It looks for fake profiles, deepfakes, phishing sites, counterfeit listings and fraudulent apps. Analysts check detections, and a risk score puts the worst threats first. Takedowns can be automated or handled with an analyst.

It connects to Cortex XSOAR, IBM QRadar, Google SecOps, Exabeam, Jira and Cisco Umbrella, among others.

ZeroFox is on the list for breadth, because it watches more than 180 platforms, including job boards and marketplaces, and it protects executive accounts as well as the brand. That suits companies where impersonation of people, not only domains, is the main risk. With that many sources, ask how the risk score and analyst checks keep the alert queue to what your team can handle.

ZeroFox Brand Protection main features +
  • Fake profile and deepfake detection
  • Malicious domain detection
  • Counterfeit and unauthorized seller tracking
  • Deep and dark web monitoring
  • Fraudulent app detection

What customers say+

ZeroFox is strongest at spotting fake social media accounts and lookalike domains that pose as your brand or your executives, and takedown requests go out right from the platform. The catch is how takedowns are sold, because they come in bundles or credits that run out fast when you have many targets, and the interface has enough quirks to confuse new users.

Our take +

KELA Brand Protection scans open, deep and dark web sources for phishing sites, lookalike domains, typosquatting and social media impersonation. It also watches for misuse of your logos and images. It tracks suspicious domains through each stage, from registration to a live phishing site, so you can act before an attack starts.

Each incident is ranked automatically and enriched with Whois records, screenshots and related data from KELA's own data lake. It offers URL blocking, playbooks and automated takedowns.

KELA makes the list for early warning, because it follows a suspicious domain from registration to a live phishing site, so you can block it before it is used. Its own data lake adds context to each incident, which fits teams that also want threat intelligence, at any company size. Ask how its automated takedowns are priced and how alerts reach your other systems, because no integrations are listed.

Our take +

Check Point Digital Brand Protection, formerly Cyberint, watches the open, deep and dark web, social media, app stores and job sites for brand abuse. Its Phishing Beacon flags a cloned copy of your website within seconds of it going live, but it needs tracking code on your pages. It also finds lookalike domains, fake apps, executive impersonation and leaked source code, API keys and personal data.

Alerts come with screenshots and advice on what to do. You can start a takedown in one click and follow its status, with help from a takedown team.

It earns a spot because Phishing Beacon can flag a cloned site within seconds, if you can add tracking code to your pages. It also catches leaked source code and API keys and connects to SOAR, SIEM and ticketing products, so it fits a SOC that wants brand alerts next to other external risk. Regular scans run twice a week by default, so ask what runs closer to real time.

Check Point Digital Brand Protection main features +
  • Discovery of phishing and impersonation sites
  • Lookalike domain and fake app detection
  • Social media impersonation monitoring
  • Executive impersonation protection
  • Alerts with screenshots and remediation advice
  • One-click takedown requests
  • Takedown tracking dashboard

Our take +

Bolster uses AI to find lookalike domains, phishing sites, fake social accounts, copycat apps and dark web mentions of your brand. It then sends takedown requests to registrars, hosts and platforms automatically. A customer abuse mailbox sorts phishing reports sent in by your customers.

It connects to Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Cortex XSOAR, Okta, Slack, Microsoft Teams and Jira, among others. Bolster also runs CheckPhish, a free URL scanner.

Bolster is here because it automates the whole loop, from finding a lookalike domain or fake app to filing the takedown with the registrar, host or platform. The customer abuse mailbox also helps if your own customers send you phishing reports, and it suits companies of any size. Ask how it ranks what it finds, because automated takedowns are only as good as the detections behind them.

Bolster Platform main features +
  • Domain monitoring and automated takedowns
  • Social media monitoring and takedowns
  • App store monitoring for fake/fraudulent apps
  • Dark web AI monitoring
  • Customer abuse mailbox for phishing report triage
  • Threat signals and intelligence feeds
  • Automated takedown submission

What customers say+

Most praised:

Bolster spots fake websites and social accounts that copy a brand and takes them down, and customers say the process is fast and mostly automatic, so their teams spend little time on it. It's easy to set up and use, and the support team gets good marks too. The one shared gripe is takedowns on social networks and some hosts, which can take days because those companies decide how fast to act, so a fake page may stay live for a while.

SOCRadar Brand Protection watches the surface, deep and dark web, social media and app stores for brand and executive impersonation. It finds lookalike domains, phishing sites, fake profiles, rogue mobile apps, stolen card data and leaks of code and personal data. AI agents check logos, image text and page content, and you can tune the detection steps in a visual workflow builder.

It connects to Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, Palo Alto XSOAR, CrowdStrike Falcon and Microsoft Defender, among others.

SOCRadar earns its place because it pairs brand checks with executive protection and leak monitoring, and its takedown team works directly with hosts, registrars and platforms. The workflow builder suits teams that want to tune their own detection. Ask how takedowns are priced, because volume can grow fast once detection is live.

SOCRadar Brand Protection main features +
  • Lookalike domain and phishing site detection
  • AI agents for logo similarity, image text and site content
  • Visual workflow builder for phishing detection
  • Domain infrastructure monitoring across IP, registrar and WHOIS

Our take +

Axur Brand Protection watches URLs, domains, social media, app stores, marketplaces and the dark web for scams that use your brand. Its own AI model, Clair, reads images and page layouts, so it can spot abuse that keyword searches miss. It works in many languages and catches fake ads, counterfeit sales and malware sites.

Takedowns are largely automated. The system decides which threats can be acted on, sends notices to hosts and platforms, reads the replies and follows up. Each case comes with screenshots, HTML and Whois data as evidence.

Axur makes the list because Clair reads images and page layouts, so it can catch brand abuse that never names you in text, in many languages. Its takedowns gather evidence and follow up with hosts on their own, which suits teams of any size that want little manual work. Axur changed owners in early 2026, so ask how the product and its pricing will change.

Conclusion

Start with how takedowns are handled and priced. If you want analysts to curate threats and manage removals, Fortra Brand Protection is the place to start. If fake social accounts are your biggest problem, ZeroFox monitors more than 180 platforms. Bolster suits teams that want automated takedowns with little setup.

KELA and Check Point stand out for early detection, from new domain registrations to cloned websites. SOCRadar adds credential and dark web monitoring, and Axur brings image-based detection. These have fewer public reviews, so ask for references.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between brand protection and DMARC?

DMARC stops attackers from sending email from your exact domain. Brand protection finds lookalike domains, fake sites and fake accounts that DMARC cannot see. Most companies need both.

How do takedowns work?

The product gathers evidence, such as screenshots and Whois records, and sends it to the registrar, host or platform. That company decides whether to remove the content. This is why some takedowns take hours and others take days.

Why are takedowns sometimes metered?

Each takedown takes work from the vendor or its partners. Some vendors include unlimited takedowns, while others sell credits or monthly bundles. Ask which model you get before you compare prices.

Can a removed fake site come back?

Yes. Attackers often move the same page to a new domain or host. Good products keep watching and flag the copy when it returns.

Do I need dark web monitoring too?

Dark web monitoring finds stolen passwords and data about your company. Several products here include it alongside brand checks, which can save you buying a second product.

Why do some products have no customer section?

We only summarize customer views when we find enough first-hand reviews from more than one place. Several products here have too few public reviews, so ask those vendors for references.
