Titanium for Linux Description
Titanium for Linux is a system-hardening and security platform designed for operationally-deployed Linux systems. The product operates under a threat model that assumes attackers will gain root access to the system. The platform implements Mandatory Access Control (MAC) policy management, requiring policies only for protected applications, libraries, scripts, and data files. It denies access to protected entities by default, even from root-level users, and encrypts and authenticates MAC policies as part of the secure boot process. Titanium for Linux provides hardware resource controls, restricting direct access to peripherals and storage devices. It prevents malicious modifications to system BIOS and firmware while enabling secure software updates. The product reduces attack surface by removing unnecessary OS functionality and disallowing unsigned module loading or process debugging. It eliminates kernel functionality and features that could assist attackers in analyzing system configuration or execution flow. Runtime and rest protections include debug prevention, copy protection, unauthorized memory reading prevention, and protection against unauthenticated code loading. Protected entities are authenticated to verify they have not been altered, with files decrypted only as needed using out-of-band stored keys. The platform cryptographically binds sensitive applications, data files, and configurations to specific hardware, preventing copying and execution on non-authentic devices. It authenticates data and configuration files before permitting access by protected applications.
