SecureNinja Hands-on Windows 8 and Server 2012 Security is a three-day instructor-led training course that teaches security professionals how to protect, harden, and monitor Windows 8 workstations and Windows Server 2012 environments. The course uses a hands-on approach where students learn defensive security techniques by understanding how attackers exploit these platforms. The training covers Active Directory configuration, implementation of STIGS and CIS Benchmarks, Group Policy Object (GPO) creation and enforcement, authentication and identity control, application control, and monitoring tools. For Windows 8, the curriculum includes baseline creation, malicious code detection, secure domain integration, Auditpol configuration, workstation hardening, and PowerShell management tools. Students receive remote access to a dedicated virtual lab environment through a web browser for the duration of the class. The course is available in public training centers or as a live online format. Upon completion, participants receive 24 CPE credits and a certificate of completion. Students can re-sit the class for up to one year. The course is designed for IT system administrators and IT security professionals with familiarity in Windows system administration and Linux.
