Secure-IC Anti-Rowhammer IP is a hardware IP core designed to protect memory systems from Rowhammer attacks. Rowhammer attacks exploit DRAM vulnerabilities by repeatedly accessing neighboring memory rows to flip bits in adjacent rows, potentially allowing attackers to modify or extract sensitive data such as encryption keys. The IP provides detection capabilities by analyzing memory access history to identify suspicious patterns characteristic of Rowhammer attacks. When an attack attempt is detected, the system can force a memory refresh to prevent bit flips from occurring. The IP includes active address scrambling as a prevention mechanism. This creates a separation between the logical address space used for RAM access and the physical address space in the actual RAM, making it difficult for attackers to identify and target neighboring rows. The solution is designed to be technology-agnostic and can integrate with existing memory designs regardless of hardware technology type or memory IP vendor.
