Fleet Software Management is a feature within the Fleet Device Management platform that enables IT and security teams to deploy, manage, and update software across endpoints running macOS, Windows, and Linux. Software can be installed from a built-in catalog of Fleet-maintained apps or uploaded as custom packages. Deployment can be performed through the UI, API, or GitOps workflows. Zero-touch installation allows software to be configured and deployed during device setup without requiring third-party tools. End users can access a self-service portal to install organization-approved software on any supported OS, reducing IT support burden. Software can be targeted to specific groups or the entire organization. Patch management is automated through policy-based automations that detect whether devices meet defined conditions and trigger responses such as app updates, script execution, or ticket creation. Webhooks are available for integration with external tools. Google Calendar integration allows patch scheduling to be coordinated with user availability. Vulnerability management capabilities include automatic detection of CVEs affecting the environment, automated ticket creation for confirmed vulnerabilities, and the ability to track zero-day threats via live queries before official CVE publication. Automations can close tickets or remove/update software to remediate vulnerabilities. The platform also detects when previously resolved vulnerabilities are reintroduced.
