EdgeWave iPrism 55h is an Advanced Web Gateway appliance that provides web filtering and security for enterprise networks. The 1U rack-mountable appliance supports up to 2,500 workstations with 50+ Mbps throughput and can retain 320 million access event records. The appliance includes web filtering capabilities using the iGuard URL database with human review, anti-botnet technology for outbound threat detection, and protection against malware, viruses, phishing, and other web-based threats. It features a Circumvention Defense Network to prevent users from bypassing security controls. The system offers optional social networking management with granular monitoring and control of social media usage. Application-level alerting displays block messages within social media applications when policy violations are detected. The appliance includes on-box reporting with long-term data log retention, email alerts, real-time monitoring, and drill-down views. Remote filtering capabilities extend web security to users outside the network without requiring VPN or DMZ hardware deployment. The Secure Browser feature provides web access management for mobile devices. The 55h model is powered by an Intel Quad-Core Xeon X3440 processor with 6GB ECC DDR3 memory. Future versions include SSL inspection for HTTPS traffic analysis and integrated antivirus scanning.
