EdgeWave Email Encryption is a hosted email encryption service that provides secure delivery of email communications. The solution offers two encryption methods: TLS server-to-server encryption and park-and-pull encryption technology. TLS encryption operates transparently between email servers, authenticating mail servers to each other and encrypting email contents during transit. This method protects against spoofed email and secures messages while in transit between servers. The park-and-pull encryption method stores encrypted messages on EdgeWave's secured portal and sends recipients a notification with a link to access the message via a secure web interface. Recipients register once to access their secured portal, where they can read, reply, delete, forward, create, recall, save, or print messages. This method does not require software installation or encryption keys from either sender or recipient. Encryption can be triggered manually by users or automatically based on administrator-defined rules. The service integrates with EdgeWave's Email Security and Data Loss Prevention services to inspect outgoing email for malware, viruses, inappropriate content, and compliance breaches before encryption. The solution includes reporting capabilities with message tracking and audit trails for compliance and troubleshooting purposes. As a completely hosted service, it requires no hardware or software implementation and can be enabled on a per-user basis or through automated routing policies. The service supports all email gateways.
