HiCrypt™ is a network drive encryption solution for Windows environments that encrypts and decrypts data transparently in the background, without requiring changes to users' existing workflows. It operates on the client (endpoint) side, meaning encryption and decryption occur directly on the PC before data is transferred to or stored on a network share. HiCrypt™ supports encryption of data stored on network drives accessed via UNC paths, as well as cloud-based storage locations. It presents encrypted drives as standard network drives in Windows Explorer, preserving the familiar user experience. Multiple authorized users can access the same encrypted drive simultaneously, distinguishing it from container-based encryption approaches. Access control is managed through an integrated user management system that operates independently of local or domain user accounts, allowing rights to be assigned without requiring administrative (IT admin) privileges. The key ownership model guarantees that only the customer controls encryption keys — no backdoors or vendor access are present. HiCrypt™ supports disaster recovery through exportable recovery keys. It is also compatible with terminal server environments, making it usable in Desktop as a Service (DaaS) scenarios.
