Fixer - PC Security is a system restoration tool developed by Data Shepherd that automatically restores Windows PCs to a predefined, administrator-configured state. The tool is designed for shared computing environments such as schools and libraries, where multiple users access the same workstations. IT teams can define a baseline system state, and Fixer will revert the PC to that state on a configurable schedule or trigger — including on reboot, log-off, idle detection, or on hourly, daily, or weekly intervals. Fixer also supports recovery of PCs that are failing to boot correctly, reducing the need for manual IT intervention. It includes an "immune space" feature that allows specified data to be preserved across restoration cycles, ensuring important files are not lost during a reset. Additional features include the ability to automatically accept OS and antivirus updates, block access to CD-ROM drives and USB ports, write-protect hard disk partitions with minimal configuration steps, and protect unlimited hard disk partitions. The product includes a remote management console for network-based administration across multiple machines.
