Cyberoam CR1000iNG-XP is a next-generation firewall appliance designed for enterprise networks. The product is no longer available and has been replaced by Sophos solutions. The appliance provides Layer 8 identity-based security that treats user identity as the eighth layer in the network protocol stack, enabling administrators to control network activity and set policies based on usernames. It offers stateful inspection firewall capabilities across Layers 2-8. The device includes inline application inspection and control covering over 2000 applications, with classification based on risk level, characteristics, and technology. It provides website filtering with a URL database containing millions of URLs grouped into 89+ categories. Security features include an Intrusion Prevention System that protects against network and application-level attacks, malware, Trojans, DoS/DDoS attacks, and blended threats. The appliance supports VPN connectivity through both IPSec and SSL protocols with threat-free tunneling technology. The CR1000iNG-XP offers on-appliance reporting with over 1200 real-time reports for visibility into user and network activities. It includes bandwidth management with QoS controls tied to users, user groups, applications, and website categories. Additional security subscriptions available include Web Application Firewall for protecting against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, Gateway Anti-Virus, and Gateway Anti-Spam. The appliance features FleXi Ports with I/O slots supporting additional Copper 1G, Fiber 1G/10G ports. The device supports up to 42 ports, 5.5 million concurrent sessions, and 240,000 new sessions per second. It offers IPv6 Ready Gold Logo certification and multiple link management for business continuity.
