Virtual Mobile Infrastructure (VMI) is a mobile virtualization platform that runs mobile applications on a server-hosted mobile operating system (OS) rather than on physical end-user devices. The platform hosts a customized mobile OS on virtual machines (VMs) managed by a hypervisor on a centralized host. Each VM supports multiple simultaneous user sessions, with each user isolated in a closed sandbox and each app isolated within that sandbox. Users access their mobile apps via a thin client application installed on their physical mobile device (iOS or Android). The thin client displays a rendered image of the remote session; no apps or data are stored on the device itself. Only display output is transmitted to the device, while user inputs (keystrokes, gestures, location data) are sent back to the server using Nubo's proprietary UX over IP communication protocol. Data is stored centrally and decoupled from the OS layer, encrypted with per-user keys so that even administrators cannot access individual user data. A connection broker manages connectivity between organizational resources and connected mobile devices. From an enterprise management perspective, VMI centralizes app deployment and lifecycle management on a single platform, eliminating the need to manage apps across diverse device types and OS versions. IT administrators can revoke access for lost, stolen, or compromised devices without interacting with the device itself. Features such as screen capture are disabled at the platform level. The platform integrates with existing enterprise infrastructure including Active Directory for authentication and Exchange for email. It is designed to support BYOD scenarios by separating corporate apps and data from personal device content.
