JADAPTIVE Desktop SSH Agent is a cross-platform, open-source SSH agent application for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It manages SSH private keys and facilitates SSH public key authentication by storing keys in memory, removing the need to enter a passphrase on every login. The application serves as a graphical replacement for the built-in command-line ssh-agent tools found in Linux, macOS, and Windows 10. It provides a user interface on top of standard SSH agent functionality, adding a connection manager, host key manager, and support for storing and using private keys from a mobile device. It is fully compatible with OpenSSH's ssh-agent and PuTTY's Pageant, making it a drop-in substitute for either. The agent operates in the background and cooperates with any SSH client that supports the native OpenSSH agent socket or the PuTTY Pageant protocol. The project is licensed under the GPL and built using JADAPTIVE's own Maverick Synergy open-source Java SSH API. Source code is available on GitHub for community contribution via pull requests.
